Hi! I am Vanita Verma

I am a UX designer passionate about using user-centered approach to solving problems. I believe that good design is invisible and requires designer to have a deep understanding of user needs.

In 2021, I completed a Masters degree in Human Factors in Information Design from Bentley University, Boston, and currently work as a senior product designer at Imprivata, a digital identity company working in domains of healthcare. My experience includes an internship at the Innovation Lab at Retail Business Services, and a research assistantship at a UX consultancy where I gained professional experience by designing and executing  projects in domains of tech, healthcare, media, and retail.

I have a previous background in Architecture and Urban Design, and I combine my passion for UX and Urban Design, I recently co-presented a talk at the UXPA Boston, 2024 on 'What can we learn about mental models from the field of Urban Design?" which delved into how human beings develop mental models for spatial navigation using cognitive aspects, the urban design principles derived from this learning and how can we use these principles into designing our user interfaces.

Keen on learning about accessibility, I explored the accessibility component for web images and published a blog at Bentley University's User Experience Center. To further expand my learning, I took a certificate course on web accessibility (W3C).

Some of my previous Urban Design projects, demonstrating ability to think both at high-level strategic planning as well as at human scale, focusing on detail-oriented design:
