I am Vanita Verma, a curious, empathetic and detail-oriented individual engaged in creating delightful and intuitive user experience for products.
Skills
I am a design generalist - I conduct my research and work towards designs based on learnings from user research. Being a generalist, I am confident and adaptable, I can enter unknown problem spaces and effectively solve problems. My architecture background, along with a master's degree in Human Factors in Information Design, Bentley University, has equipped me to solve challenging problems.
Work Overview
-
1.5 yrs - current as a product designer at Imprivata
-
UX Designer Co-Op at Retail Business Services (a subsidiary of Ahold Delhaize)
-
1 year of work experience at a UX consultancy at Bentley University.
I was involved in developing user-centered design solutions for both physical and digital products.
Before UX
Before transitioning to UX, I worked as an urban design consultant with a government think tank in India, developing users' experience in the physical design of spaces. My urban design experience enables me to observe how systems work at a larger level and simultaneously observe how people interact and respond to them. My curiosity about human behavior and desire to solve complex problems drive me to find user-centered solutions for every situation.
Beyond work
When not at work, I like to travel, paint, read more about psychology, and practice yoga. I love the fluidity of watercolours, I explore my dexterous nature through this medium. Here are some glimpses of my art and architecture works.
